Arts, Music and Dance Fun for the Whole Family
Edmonds Arts Festival | June 14-16 (times vary Friday-Sunday)
The ever-popular festival hosts visual artists, performing arts, student art, and fun art projects for kids. Food booths offer traditional festival food and ethnic specialties
Make it an Edmonds kind of Saturday by visiting the weekly outdoor market during (or separate from) your trip to the arts festival.
Secret Gardens of Lake Forest Park: Garden Tour and Market | Saturday, June 15, 2019 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Stroll serenely on a self-guided tour of six gardens in Lake Forest Park, each hosting musicians, artists, and master gardeners. Follow the link to purchase tickets in advance, or instructions for purchasing the day of the event.
Meet neighbors, share food, enjoy multicultural music, learn dances, and have fun! This event is free and welcoming of all ages. Held at Shoreline Community College.
Wrap up your week with the Tot Grand Prix at the Magnuson Community Center. Come race peddle/push cars for glory and prizes and celebrate the end of the Tot Gym season as we move into our summer schedule.
Drop in anytime between 10 am and 1 pm with children ages 3-7 for "Beautiful Butterflies," a fun nature exploration with an activity and a craft. ($10/family)
Stop by to read aloud to a loving 4-legged listener. Featuring certified therapy dogs...and maybe a cat! For emergent and independent readers to building reading skills and confidence, held at the Mountlake Terrace Library.
Kids' Club: Plant a Pollinator Container Garden | Saturday and Sunday, June 15-16, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
We invite you to come celebrate national pollinator month with us! Join us to plant a pollinator garden from seeds and paint a thumbprint bee on the pot! Activity fee: $10 for materials and instruction, held at Swansons Nursery.
Children ages 5 and older can discover some amazing science magic at the Lake Forest Park Library, presented by Louie Foxx.
Respect. Kindness. Harmony. Honesty. Gratitude. Peace. A series of one-hour classes for children hosted at our local Buddha Jewel Monastery. Follow the link to sign up in advance.
Education Mixed with Fun for Parents and Caregivers
Are you ready for "The Big One," a major earthquake? Who will come to help, and when? What will you eat and drink, and for how long? What will you do without electricity, city water, and other services. Event includes fire truck and kids' activities plus free food from Patty Pan Cooperative, held at Briarcrest Elementary.
Stop by Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park to hear local "out and about with kids" expert and Parent Map author Elisa Murray discuss her book "52 Seattle Adventures with Kids."
After Elisa Murray's event, stick around Third Place Commons to grab dinner, and swing along with the The 85th Street Big Band, a lively 19-piece big band playing their favorites from the 30s, 40s, and 50s, starting at 7:30 pm.
